Raw Jersey Milk

BE WHOLE AGAIN BY DRINKING RAW WHOLE MILK!

Before purchasing milk from us, you will need to sign our waiver of liability form.

“WHOLE” milk from Be Whole Again Farm is: unprocessed (has not been pasteurized or homogenized), full-fat, from local Jersey cows (and 1 Brown Swiss) who are allowed to express their true natures as pasture-grazing, nursing mothers. We think this makes our milk healthier and happier too! Click here for more information on our farming philosophy and practices.

“WHOLE” milk has loads of enzymes, probiotics, protein, healthy fats, vitamins, and minerals that pasteurized and homogenized milk from grain-fed, confinement-raised cows is missing. Our milk tastes fresh, creamy, and alive. Unlike the watery, flat, plastic, dead flavor of store-bought milk. When you buy a gallon of fresh Jersey milk from us, you’re really buying your milk, your coffee cream, whip cream, butter, etc. all at once in a single jar!  WHAT A VALUE!!

The cream line can vary throughout the year based on the quality of the pasture/hay, the stage of the cows’ lactation cycles, and whether or not one of our cows was especially stubborn in holding back her hind milk for her calf (click here for more info on our unique calf management practices). But there is usually more than a pint of cream included in each gallon jar. Generally, Jersey milk is 4% butterfat or higher.

“WHOLE” Milk Pricing & Payment Options

We offer 3 purchasing options to try and help you with your budgeting concerns, but we encourage MONTHLY PRE-PAY with a commitment to a WEEKLY PICK-UP whenever possible.  Because our milk cannot be sold at “retail” away from the farm, but it can be legally “delivered,” we require all milk for off-farm deliveries to have been pre-paid and/or written evidence of having been pre-ordered prior to the delivery.

Bring cash or check to your first pickup each month. When you work on the farm, you will be given vouchers in ¼, ½ or 1 hour increments that you can turn in with your cash payment to cover your labor portion for that month. (See the Dairy CSA webpage for more information on this program.)
Commit-ment/Priority Since you are participating at the lowest commitment level with the farm, you would also have lowest priority for milk availability. If we run out of milk that day, you might not get any. Must provide 48 hrs notice to cancel a pre-paid delivery or you will not receive a credit. You will have the 2nd highest milk priority. In general, we expect you to commit to a weekly pickup. Must provide 48 hrs notice to cancel a pre-paid delivery or you will not receive a credit. These clients are top priority for milk availability.

MONTHLY PRE-PAY: We HIGHLY encourage clients to pre-pay for a full calendar month’s worth of milk, which will be picked up on a pre-set day of the week each week. Doing so means that I will set aside milk for you each week, to ensure that you get milk.  Those who buy on a random basis may find that there are days that I don’t have any extra milk.  It also allows us to ensure we have the freshest milk possible for you by strategically staggering pick-ups throughout the week. And so we can manage our herd size and productivity to have enough milk for our regular clients, without having too much leftover. If we know there is enough consistent demand, we will purchase more cows to try and keep up with the need.

JAR DEPOSIT: Jar deposits will be refunded when you no longer want to purchase milk. Until that time, each time you come for milk, we’ll simply trade you your clean empty jar for a new jar full of milk.  Please return our jars clean–although we will sterilize them before they are re-filled again.

***If you do have your own gallon sized glass jars and lids that are in good shape, you can bring them the first time you come, or trade them in later, to become part of our pool, and you can get your deposit re-funded. Then you can keep your jars when you decide to stop having them re-filled. We also accept “donations” of any jars you might want to get rid of. ***

PICK-UP: Milk can generally be picked up at the farm Monday-Saturday 9 am-7 pm, but it is best to call ahead to ensure we will be here and that we have milk available when you come.  801-400-2298. (Sorry, I still have my Utah cell phone number.)
